Mark has lived nearly all his life in The Vale Of Belvoir owning and shooting over spaniels for 35 years or more. Mark says “Field Trialling became my passion in the early 1990’s, forming the Belvden affix I have qualified for the Championship for the last 10 consecutive years. I have been lucky to make up four field trial champions and ran in the England Team at the CLA on two occasions.
Mark has been Vice Chairman of the Spaniel Club for 3 Years and Acting Chairman until January 2011 which has added to a busy year including judging the Swedish and Irish Championships and running in the English Championships.
My spaniels are my main passion in life but one of the things I enjoy most is passing this on to others: whether through my dogs, the occassional litter or through Training offered through Belvoir Training ran by my daughter.
Mark has lived in the Vale of Belvoir since childhood and started shooting at the age of twelve and acquired his first spaniel at 19.
The first FTCh Denford Danny of Belvden won a Diploma and Guns Choice in 2001. We sadly lost Danny to old Age recently May 2011. His daughter FTCh Rydanlue Breeze won a Diploma in the 2005 British Spaniel Championships and has competed twice at the Irish Championships. FTCh Belvden Collingwood qualified for the 2007 Championships but did not compete as Mark, an A Panel judge, was one of the four judges at the event. In the 2008 Championships at Conholt Park he was awarded fourth place and best dog.
Since then we now are pleased to have FTCH Belvden Vatanen making Three FTCH’s. Vatanen was unlucky at the 2011 champs but we cannot wait for next season, this dog has serious potential.
Mark has judged all over the UK including Ireland,The Isle of Man and Sweden.
